Juniper Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance and operation of our facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Do

Oversee the overall maintenance operations of the facility.

Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, systems, and supplies.

Order and requisition maintenance supplies and equipment within budget guidelines.

Test the emergency generator weekly and monthly in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Maintain the building and grounds in good repair and free from safety hazards involving electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and other systems.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations.

Conduct monthly inspections of the building, grounds, and facility.

Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, minor carpentry, repairs, lighting replacement, and general upkeep.

Coordinate maintenance projects with other departments.

Interview, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance staff.

Maintain the appearance of the facility grounds by mowing, trimming, landscaping, and removing debris as needed.

Participate in department supervisor meetings and required committees.

Remain on call for facility emergencies.

Coordinate and participate in fire safety programs and fire drills.

Schedule and oversee outside contractors for repairs, maintenance, and construction projects.

Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and supplies.

Wash exterior windows and screens as needed.

Maintain organized work areas and storage rooms.

Prioritize and assign daily work orders.

Develop staff schedules and work assignments.

Maintain records and schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual preventative maintenance programs.
What You'll Need

High school diploma or GED required (or equivalent related work experience).

Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience.

One (1) to two (2) years of supervisory or management experience preferred.

Practical knowledge of facility maintenance and physical plant operations.

Ability to safely operate maintenance and landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, edgers, pressure washers, chainsaws, and related tools.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
