Juniper Gardens Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance to oversee the maintenance and operation of our facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the overall maintenance operations of the facility.

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, systems, and supplies.

  • Order and requisition maintenance supplies and equipment within budget guidelines.

  • Test the emergency generator weekly and monthly in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Maintain the building and grounds in good repair and free from safety hazards involving electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and other systems.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes and regulations.

  • Conduct monthly inspections of the building, grounds, and facility.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, minor carpentry, repairs, lighting replacement, and general upkeep.

  • Coordinate maintenance projects with other departments.

  • Interview, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance staff.

  • Maintain the appearance of the facility grounds by mowing, trimming, landscaping, and removing debris as needed.

  • Participate in department supervisor meetings and required committees.

  • Remain on call for facility emergencies.

  • Coordinate and participate in fire safety programs and fire drills.

  • Schedule and oversee outside contractors for repairs, maintenance, and construction projects.

  • Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and supplies.

  • Wash exterior windows and screens as needed.

  • Maintain organized work areas and storage rooms.

  • Prioritize and assign daily work orders.

  • Develop staff schedules and work assignments.

  • Maintain records and schedules for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual preventative maintenance programs.

What You'll Need

  • High school diploma or GED required (or equivalent related work experience).

  • Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience.

  • One (1) to two (2) years of supervisory or management experience preferred.

  • Practical knowledge of facility maintenance and physical plant operations.

  • Ability to safely operate maintenance and landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, edgers, pressure washers, chainsaws, and related tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
