Job Description

The Residential Maintenance Technician is an integral member of a small, dedicated maintenance team responsible for the upkeep and smooth operation of company owned residential facilities in Milwaukee, Racine, and Waukesha Counties. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the technician primarily performs routine and preventive maintenance tasks during regular daytime hours, with scheduled on-call rotations for emergency support. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining a safe, efficient environment addressing tenant maintenance concerns and offers opportunities for cross-training and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
  • Conduct routine facility upkeep to maintain operational standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly
  • Comply with safety regulations and protocols
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations for emergency support
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and team members on tasks
  • Manage time efficiently to complete assignments
  • Unit turnovers
  • Assist with snow & ice management during the winter

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and preventive maintenance
  • Basic plumbing skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with safety compliance standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
  • Good time management skills
  • Drywall & Painting Skills
  • Basic Carpentry Skills
