Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Elgin, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $30-$34/hr.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills looking for long-term career growth.

Job Duties:

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, gantry systems, and facility equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and complete repairs during production.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and work orders.
  • Replace defective components, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Identify equipment issues and communicate findings to production and management.
  • Partner with production teams to improve preventive maintenance programs and reduce equipment failures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all company safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 3-4 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably maintaining CNC or gantry equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with OEM machine controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Heidenhain.
  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency with maintenance, manufacturing, and Microsoft Office software is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
