Job Description

Step into a visible leadership role where your project management expertise helps shape learning environments across Houston. As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead complex education projects from planning through completion, bringing structure, communication, and accountability to every phase while supporting a collaborative architecture team focused on thoughtful, community-centered design.

Why You Should Apply to be the Senior Project Manager

  • Lead meaningful K-12 and higher education projects that directly impact students, educators, and communities.
  • Join a collaborative architecture environment with a strong reputation for practical, client-focused design.
  • Competitive salary range of $115,000-$130,000, based on experience.
  • Work closely with firm leadership, clients, consultants, contractors, and internal design teams.
  • Take ownership of schedules, budgets, quality, documentation, and project delivery.
  • Be part of a team that values long-term relationships, technical excellence, and responsive service.
  • Grow your leadership impact while mentoring project staff and supporting process improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing as the Senior Project Manager

  • Lead education projects through programming, design, documentation, permitting, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building trust through clear communication, follow-through, and sound judgment.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, staffing plans, budgets, deliverables, and consultant coordination.
  • Guide internal teams through project milestones while maintaining quality, accuracy, and alignment with client goals.
  • Coordinate with school districts, universities, public agencies, consultants, and contractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications, meeting notes, submittals, RFIs, and change documentation.
  • Support project financial performance by tracking progress, managing expectations, and addressing issues early.
  • Mentor project architects, designers, and emerging professionals in best practices for education work.

About You as the Senior Project Manager

  • 10-15 years of architecture experience, ideally with a strong focus on education projects.
  • Experience leading K-12, higher education, civic, or institutional projects in Houston or similar public-sector environments.
  • Strong understanding of architectural project delivery, consultant coordination, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Licensed Architect preferred; strong non-licensed project leaders with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Confident communicator who can lead meetings, manage client expectations, and resolve issues with professionalism.
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Familiarity with Texas accessibility, permitting, code, and public education project requirements is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with Revit, project management tools, and standard architecture documentation workflows.

How To Apply

If you’re an experienced Senior Project Manager ready to lead education-focused architecture projects in Houston, this is an opportunity to bring your leadership, technical knowledge, and client service mindset to work that matters.

Submit your resume for confidential consideration. We appreciate all applicants; only those selected for further discussion will be contacted.
