Subsidized Affordable Housing Property
Project Based Section 8, HUD 202 Experience
Responsible for leasing, collecting documentation, collecting rents, interfacing with tenants, basic accounting administration and assist in resolving any issues that might arise.
Responsibilities -
- Assist prospective tenants in completing required paperwork. Mail notifications to accepted and declined applicants. Follow-up with accepted applicants.
- Make sure that only those households that are eligible are admitted as tenants.
- Make sure that the income of prospective tenants are calculated correctly.
- Receives rent, security deposits, and miscellaneous income from the tenants on behalf of the property.
- Administer recertifications.
- Charge tenants for damages, late charges, NSF charges, and other miscellaneous charges due under the lease.
- Start lease termination proceedings against tenants who do not comply with the lease terms.
- Consult with Supervisor before starting an eviction.
- Issue lease violations according to company policies and procedures.
- Notify Supervisor immediately of any incidents and send reports within 24 hours.
Education and Experience -
- High school diploma
- Two years property management experience preferred
- HUD 202 experience preferred
- HUD Project Based Section 8 experience
- Property management license required in South Carolina
- Must pass drug screen and background check
Language Skills -
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from residents, co-workers, representatives of funding sources, owners and various agencies.
- Ability to handle basic calculations.
- Ability to write business correspondence.
