Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing welding, fabrication, and steel‐erection projects from award through closeout. This role ensures compliance with all technical specifications, safety regulations, and contractual requirements while maintaining schedule, cost, and quality performance. The PM serves as the primary interface between clients, engineering, fabrication, field crews, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate detailing, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and erection activities.
- Conduct jobsite assessments, pre‐construction planning, and constructability reviews.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Technical Oversight
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure work meets AWS, ASME, ABS, NavSea, OSHA Subpart R, and company standards.
- Support welding procedures, fabrication sequencing, and erection planning.
- Oversee critical lifts, crane coordination, and high‐risk erection operations.
Field Coordination & Safety
- Monitor jobsite progress, productivity, and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with field supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Ensure adherence to company safety policies, hot‐work requirements, and hazard controls.
- Resolve field issues promptly to maintain schedule and quality.
Contract Administration
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract modifications.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and communication records.
- Prepare and submit billing, pay applications, and supporting documentation.
- Track contract deliverables, milestones, and closeout requirements.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, GCs, engineers, and inspectors.
- Lead progress meetings and provide regular status updates.
- Maintain professional relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct inspections of welding, fabrication, and erection work.
- Verify materials, workmanship, and installation meet project specifications.
- Support internal QA/QC processes and certification requirements.
Project Closeout
- Complete punch lists, turnover packages, and final documentation.
- Conduct post‐project evaluations and lessons‐learned reviews.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; technical or engineering degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in manufacturing, welding, or industrial operations.
- Minimum 5 years project management experience in structural steel, fabrication, or erection.
Technical Skills
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, and steel‐erection practices.
- Familiarity with TEKLA, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar project‐management tools.
- Understanding of OSHA, AWS, and industry safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications
- AWS, ASME, ABS and NavSea certification experience.
- Experience with crane operations, rigging plans, or critical lift planning.
- Background in marine, industrial, or heavy‐construction environments.
Working Conditions
- Combination of office, fabrication shop, and field environments.
- Must be able to visit job sites, climb ladders, and navigate active construction areas.
- Occasional travel between islands or to mainland suppliers may be required.
