Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Maintenance TechnicianJob Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains the facility in a fully operational and safe condition by supporting building systems, production equipment, and overall site infrastructure. This role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general facility upkeep in a semiconductor component manufacturing environment, while also managing key environmental programs and supporting the maintenance team with complex equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the facility at a fully operational level, including HVAC systems, physical structures, plumbing, grounds, alarms, fire sprinklers, forklifts, vehicles, and equipment moves.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule of planned maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of all facility and equipment tasks.
  • Assist the maintenance department with repairing, installing, adjusting, and maintaining complex industrial production equipment and machinery.
  • Perform complex preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment and facility systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Manage the environmental program, including hazardous material inventory and storage, recycling programs, and E-waste reporting of diversion numbers to the EHS manager.
  • Ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and orderly by performing minor repairs, setups, and cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Use appropriate hand tools and equipment safely and effectively while following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support equipment moves, facility setups, and special projects as required.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately to support compliance and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with facilities maintenance, including HVAC systems, physical structures, and building utilities.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial production equipment and machinery.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and repairing complex equipment and facility systems.
  • Basic plumbing skills for maintaining and repairing facility plumbing systems.
  • Ability to perform painting and general facility upkeep tasks.
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to support a safe facility environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing facility is a plus.
  • Familiarity with environmental programs, including hazardous material inventory and storage, recycling, and E-waste reporting.
  • Experience coordinating with EHS or safety personnel on environmental and safety initiatives.
  • Ability to organize and maintain a schedule of planned maintenance activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with maintenance teams and other departments.

Work Environment

You work in a semiconductor component manufacturing plant that operates with industrial production equipment and complex facility systems. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. You perform your duties in a production and facilities setting that involves regular use of hand tools, maintenance equipment, and interaction with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to facility procedures while supporting ongoing manufacturing operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
