Network Technician

💲 Pay Rate: $26–$28/hour (W2)

🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (Hours may vary; overtime, nights, and weekends as needed)
\n
📅 Contract: 6-Month Contract (Potential Extension or Conversion)
\n
We are hiring an experienced Network Technician to support network infrastructure installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and hardware support at customer locations throughout the San Francisco area.
\n
Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Install, troubleshoot, and de-install network equipment.
- Perform cable patching between network equipment and customer networks.
- Install power cables in racks, cabinets, and communications closets.
- Install and replace routers, switches, phones, computers, cables, and other network devices.
- Perform hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure.
- Support Move, Add, Change (MAC) requests.
- Conduct data, voice, website, and security testing.
- Assist with carrier circuit testing and backup testing.
- Support inventory management, asset tagging, equipment returns, and spare inventory.
- Work directly with customers to resolve technical issues and provide excellent service.

Required Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data communications or network support.
- Experience working in communications closets and performing rack & stack activities.
- Knowledge of cable patching, structured cabling, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with Cisco switches, routers, and IP phones.
- Experience installing and troubleshooting Avaya phones.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and network terminology.
- Experience using cable testers, fiber testers, BERT testers, or network sniffers is preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements
\n

- Must have a reliable personal vehicle capable of transporting a 6-foot ladder (or a foldable A-frame ladder).
- Willing to travel to customer locations, typically within a 2-hour radius (travel time is paid).
- Must be able to safely lift heavy equipment and work in communications closets.
