IT Systems Administrator
Location: Mesa, AZ
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: Starting at $80,000 DOE + Full Benefits Package

Kinkaid Civil Construction (KCC) is a growing, family-owned and 100% employee-owned (ESOP) heavy civil contractor headquartered in Mesa, Arizona. We specialize in underground wet utilities, earthwork, and roadway infrastructure while self-performing the majority of our work throughout Arizona and Utah.

Position Summary
Kinkaid Civil Construction is seeking an experienced and solutions-driven IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain the technology infrastructure that keeps our operations running efficiently across both office and field environments. This position plays a critical role in supporting business operations, construction project teams, and company growth through reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions.
The ideal candidate is a proactive IT professional with strong systems administration, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and infrastructure experience who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while providing exceptional support to end users.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain company servers, virtualization platforms, and core infrastructure systems.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and print services.
- Monitor system health, performance, availability, and reliability.
- Perform operating system updates, patch management, maintenance, and infrastructure optimization.
- Support VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments.
- Assist with infrastructure planning, capacity management, and technology improvements that support company growth.
Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration
- Administer Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Microsoft security platforms.
- Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, multifactor authentication, and access controls.
- Support Microsoft Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networking, and identity services.
- Assist with cloud migrations, modernization initiatives, and Microsoft best practices.
Network & Cybersecurity Support
- Support firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, VPN connectivity, and overall network performance.
- Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and security policy enforcement.
- Support backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
- Monitor systems for security threats and recommend improvements to strengthen the company's security posture.
Technical Support & Project Implementation
- Serve as the escalation point for advanced technical issues.
- Support office staff, field employees, and project teams with complex technology needs.
- Lead or assist with infrastructure projects including server migrations, cloud initiatives, hardware deployments, and network upgrades.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, and system inventories.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to ensure reliable technology services across the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Systems Administration, Network Administration, or a similar IT infrastructure role.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems and enterprise infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization.
- Microsoft, Azure, Cybersecurity, Networking, or other industry certifications.
- Experience supporting multi-location organizations.
- Previous experience in the construction, engineering, or heavy civil industry.
- Experience with Intune, Microsoft Defender, and endpoint management.
- Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
