Pay: Starting at $23.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
TDL Staffing is seeking a dependable General Maintenance Technician to support military housing at Fort Wainwright. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with residential maintenance experience who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, and taking pride in quality workmanship.
In this role, you'll complete service requests, change-of-occupancy maintenance, and general repairs throughout residential homes and housing facilities. The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-focused, and able to work independently while providing professional service to residents and fellow team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete service requests, change-of-occupancy maintenance, and general repair work
- Perform general maintenance involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, drywall, and appliance repairs
- Install and connect household appliances, including stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashers
- Transport equipment, furnishings, appliances, and materials to job sites
- Repair window and door screens, frames, and other general building components
- Update work order status, materials used, and repair notes using company-provided mobile devices
- Respond to emergency and after-hours maintenance calls as needed
- Complete required paperwork accurately and maintain a clean, safe work environment
- Provide professional customer service while working with residents, coworkers, contractors, and the public
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to gain access to Fort Wainwright; REAL ID required
- 1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience
- Basic competency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, or appliance repair
- Ability to provide basic tools required for daily work
- Basic computer and tablet skills
- Ability to read and write English to understand instructions, complete documentation, and follow directions from supervisors
- Vocational or technical training is a plus
- Background screening is a part of the hiring process
- Must support a drug-free work environment
