This fully remote opportunity supports client's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) Privacy team, helping drive enterprise privacy governance, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Privacy by Design initiatives, regulatory compliance, and process automation across one of the world's largest cloud organizations. You'll partner with engineering, security, legal, HR, procurement, and business leaders to reduce privacy risk, improve operational excellence, and build scalable privacy processes that protect employee, supplier, and customer data. This is an outstanding opportunity for a privacy professional with program management expertise who is passionate about shaping enterprise-scale privacy operations while influencing the future of cloud services.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Privacy Reviews, DPIAs & Risk Assessments – Experience conducting or supporting privacy reviews, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), compliance reviews, and privacy risk assessments while ensuring regulatory requirements are met across technical systems and business processes.
  2. Privacy, Compliance & Data Governance – Strong background in privacy operations, GDPR, regulatory compliance, information protection, risk management, and enterprise data governance, with the ability to translate complex privacy requirements into actionable business and technical solutions.
  3. Technical Program Management – Proven experience managing multiple cross-functional initiatives, driving documentation, tracking compliance activities, improving operational processes, and partnering with engineering, legal, security, HR, and business stakeholders.
  4. Privacy Governance Tools & Process Improvement – Experience with privacy governance platforms such as TrustArc or OneTrust, workflow automation, reporting dashboards, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar tools to improve visibility, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Opportunity Overview:

Join client's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) Privacy team and help shape privacy strategy for the infrastructure powering Azure, Microsoft 365, and global cloud services. This role offers broad exposure across engineering, legal, security, procurement, HR Privacy, and executive stakeholders while driving meaningful work that protects sensitive data at enterprise scale. You'll contribute to high-impact privacy initiatives, influence Privacy by Design practices, improve governance processes, and help modernize privacy operations through automation and scalable compliance solutions.

How you will make an impact:

  • Conduct privacy reviews for services, systems, business processes, and technical solutions, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • Evaluate privacy risks and ensure compliance with GDPR, Microsoft Privacy Standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on data collection, consent, retention, access controls, data sharing, and privacy documentation.
  • Promote Privacy by Design principles throughout the software and operational lifecycle.
  • Partner with engineering, legal, HR Privacy, procurement, supplier assurance, security, and business stakeholders to implement privacy requirements.
  • Develop and maintain privacy guidance, playbooks, templates, and operational documentation.
  • Identify manual processes, governance gaps, and opportunities to improve privacy operations.
  • Drive workflow automation, tooling improvements, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
  • Support privacy governance platforms, intake processes, dashboards, and compliance reporting.
  • Manage multiple concurrent privacy initiatives while independently prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering, technical program management, product management, product development, data analysis, or related program delivery roles.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting privacy, compliance, regulatory programs, information protection, security, risk management, or data governance initiatives.
  • Experience conducting privacy reviews, compliance reviews, risk assessments, or implementing privacy and compliance controls.
  • Strong understanding of privacy regulations, governance frameworks, and enterprise privacy operations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical and regulatory requirements to cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, prioritization, and program management skills.
  • Experience working with cloud services, enterprise technology, infrastructure, or large-scale technology organizations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with TrustArc, OneTrust, privacy governance platforms, workflow automation, SharePoint, Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools is preferred.
  • IAPP certifications such as CIPP and/or CIPM are highly preferred.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Successful candidates combine privacy expertise with strong technical program management and stakeholder engagement skills. They are comfortable navigating ambiguous environments, balancing multiple privacy reviews simultaneously, and partnering across engineering, legal, security, HR, and business teams to deliver practical privacy solutions. Candidates with a legal background, IAPP certifications (CIPP and/or CIPM), experience supporting enterprise privacy programs or cloud services, and hands-on knowledge of privacy governance platforms such as TrustArc or OneTrust will stand out. Individuals who continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational excellence while serving as trusted privacy advisors are especially well suited for this role.
