Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanic-in-Training to assist with the maintenance, repair, and operation of water and wastewater utility systems. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will gain hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment while supporting the reliable operation of the collection and reclamation systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance of utility equipment and systems.
- Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical components.
- Perform maintenance activities according to established preventive maintenance programs.
- Operate equipment used in the rehabilitation of sewer manholes and maintenance of collection systems.
- Record daily equipment readings, maintenance activities, and operational data.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts, supplies, lubricants, chemicals, and maintenance materials.
- Assist with inspections of sewer lines, manholes, lift stations, and related infrastructure.
- Support CCTV inspection system maintenance and operation.
- Assist in locating underground utility lines when required.
- Participate in asset management and preventive maintenance programs.
- Help repair and maintain sewer lines, lift stations, and related wastewater infrastructure.
- Clean and maintain facility buildings, grounds, equipment, and work areas.
- Restore work sites following maintenance activities.
- Respond to customer service requests and assist in resolving operational issues.
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers regarding work progress, maintenance activities, and safety concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures, operating practices, and emergency response protocols.
- Perform assigned duties in a safe, professional, and efficient manner while meeting project goals and quality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, standing, walking, and manual labor.
- Occasional extended shifts, overtime, and emergency call-outs may be required to support utility operations.
