Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous, safe operation of our lumber production machinery and facilities. This includes performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures, and minimizing costly equipment downtime.
Core Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, adjust, and repair production equipment, including conveyor systems, saws, gearboxes, motors, chains, and hydraulic/pneumatic components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions, identify faulty components, and dismantle machinery to remove and replace defective parts.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and cleaning of machinery to prevent unexpected breakdowns and maximize uptime.
- Fabrication & Welding: Perform welding, cutting, and metal fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all OSHA and company safety standards, including strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Documentation: Record all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage using the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Facility Upkeep: Assist with general building and facility repairs, including lighting, structural components, and plumbing.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within a sawmill, lumber processing, or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Tool Proficiency: Comfortable using a wide variety of hand, power, and diagnostic tools, as well as welding equipment.
- Physical Capability: Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment—must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
- Safety First: Strict adherence to safety rules, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and standard operating procedures
