Job Description
As a Security Officer - Full Time in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this people-first role, you will support daily operations with agility, reliability, and integrity while working as part of a team that values innovation and a caring culture.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and customer assistance practices appropriate for a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or potential security-related issues.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support orderly operations, observe visitor activity, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or unauthorized access attempts.
- Assist with closing procedures, lost and found matters, and/or crowd management during busy periods, special events, or after-hours activity in accordance with location protocols.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
