Position OverviewThe Arizona Department of Revenue (AZDOR) is seeking a Senior .NET Applications Developer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and support enterprise .NET applications that power Arizona's tax accounting systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with .NET technologies, C#, ASP.NET, REST APIs, Azure DevOps, and modern AI-assisted software development tools including GitHub Copilot, AWS Bedrock, and Anthropic Claude.
Local Phoenix candidates only. Candidates must be available for an in-person interview within one week of the posting close date and able to start within two weeks of receiving an offer.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of programming experience, including 3+ years in software development.
- 1–2+ years of professional experience using AI-assisted development tools, including:
- GitHub Copilot
- VS Code AI Extensions
- AWS Bedrock
- Anthropic Claude
- Strong experience with:
- C#
- .NET Core
- .NET Framework
- ASP.NET
- ASP.NET MVC
- REST APIs
- Entity Framework
- ADO.NET
- JavaScript
- T-SQL
- Azure DevOps and/or TFS
- Experience with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
- Knowledge of XML Schema, Unit Testing, Dependency Injection, and OWASP security principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Extensive experience with .NET technologies.
- DevOps experience.
- Experience designing enterprise client/server applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise .NET applications supporting tax accounting systems.
- Develop client/server solutions using .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, Entity Framework, ADO.NET, and MVC.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate enterprise applications.
- Utilize GitHub Copilot, VS Code AI Extensions, AWS Bedrock, and Anthropic Claude to accelerate software development.
- Develop and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
- Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and application support.
- Apply secure coding practices following OWASP Top 10 standards.
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with cross-functional teams using Azure DevOps or TFS.
