We are seeking skilled and dedicated Supervisor of Maintenance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the direction, supervision, and coordination of all phases of rides and facilities maintenance specific to assigned areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily inspection of rides, ensuring complete and accurate inspection documentation. Take necessary actions to maintain compliance with established codes and regulations.
  • Oversee the scheduling, training and supervision of all assigned areas to make sure employees are knowledgeable of and proficient in proper procedures. Take disciplinary action when needed. Address and attempt to resolve employee concerns.
  • Provide technical assistance in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of rides as necessary.
  • Inspect rides, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and assist ride mechanics with necessary repair work as needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of Valleyfair rides and all other park buildings, facilities, landscaping, carpentry, paint, fiber glassing, and plumbing.
  • Assist in scheduling; developing project specifications; negotiating with, selecting, and scheduling contractors as needed.
  • Assist with bids and order materials as required for such projects.
  • In conjunction with department and park leadership, assists in determining priorities and schedules, developing bid package specifications, selecting, and scheduling contractors.
  • Assist with researching, bids and ordering of materials and/or services required for such projects.
  • Maintain records required by the park and corporate policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual department capital, operating expense, and labor budgets. Monitor weekly and takes appropriate action if necessary.
  • Adhere to and enforces all company and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and demonstrate commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Act as Maintenance Department Manager on Duty ensuring the safe operations of all rides, attractions and facilities across the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ASTM and ADA accessibility requirements related to buildings and facilities. They should be able to manage multiple projects effectively, even under compressed timelines, demonstrating strong multitasking abilities. A basic understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance, along with OSHA guidelines, is essential. The supervisor of maintenance must be proficient in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, as well as in computing rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpreting bar graphs. Additionally, the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a sufficient level to follow written policies and procedures, complete various basic forms, and engage with guests by responding to specific questions is required.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • License or Certification: Must meet location-specific requirements to work on specific rides and attractions. Must meet state or provincial certifications and/or licensing within 1 year if applicable in state. Valid driver's license. Welding certification preferred.
  • Experience: Requires 1-2 years related experience in rides or facility maintenance.
  • Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements.
