General Maintenance Technician

Location: Bristol, PA 19007

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $27.00/hour

Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Overhead Door / Dock / General Maintenance Technician to support operations and maintenance in a large industrial facility, including clean room environments. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on overhead doors, loading dock equipment, and general building systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and experienced in industrial maintenance with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.


Key Responsibilities

Overhead Door & Dock Equipment

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair:
    • Overhead doors
    • Roll-up doors
    • Gates and gate arms
    • Loading dock levelers
    • Dock plates
    • Dock restraints

Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance through the CMMS.
  • Lubricate equipment and perform filter changes.
  • Replace motors, bearings, sheaves, shafts, and other mechanical components.
  • Inspect and maintain mechanical control and operating systems.

General Facility Maintenance

  • Perform basic carpentry and building repairs.
  • Paint and repair walls and facility structures.
  • Repair sinks, toilets, urinals, fixtures, locks, doors, and flooring.
  • Complete daily facility walkthrough inspections.
  • Prepare and maintain conference rooms.

Mechanical & Electrical

  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting (non-licensed).
  • Troubleshoot industrial mechanical equipment.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment performance.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Complete Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report safety and compliance concerns.

Documentation & Customer Service

  • Respond promptly to maintenance work orders.
  • Update maintenance activities within the CMMS.
  • Communicate repair status with customers and supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.

Equipment Operation

  • Operate:
    • Hand and power tools
    • Laptop computers
    • Diagnostic equipment
    • Aerial lifts
    • Scissor lifts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in one of the following:
    • Industrial HVAC
    • Industrial Mechanical Maintenance
    • Machine Repair
    • Automotive Repair
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work at heights of 30 feet or more using aerial or scissor lifts.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and alternate schedules as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain a client security badge.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maximo experience preferred.
  • Welding certification.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Hand and power tools
    • Air measuring instruments
    • Refrigeration equipment
    • Electrical testing equipment
    • Meggers
    • Shop equipment


Physical Requirements

  • Frequently walk throughout a large industrial facility.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and elevated work platforms.
  • Work from aerial lifts and scissor lifts up to 30+ feet.
  • Bend, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Lift and move light to medium-weight materials.
  • Differentiate wire colors for electrical work.
  • Read technical manuals, work orders, and computer screens.
  • Use computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and during meetings.
  • Occasionally travel to other customer or Amentum locations.
