We're seeking a Facilities Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and fully operational hotel property in Menlo Park, CA. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, general repairs, and facility upkeep while providing excellent customer service to guests and team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including:
- Doors and windows
- Basic plumbing
- Carpentry
- Painting and patchwork
- Lighting and minor electrical repairs
- Minor appliance and office equipment repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and maintenance checklists.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and HVAC issues and escalate complex repairs as needed.
- Maintain building grounds and common areas in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
- Safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
- Report major maintenance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Communicate maintenance updates and repair status clearly with team members and management.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of building maintenance experience, preferably in hotels, apartments, or similar facilities.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Plumbing repairs
- Carpentry work
- General building maintenance
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance using schedules and checklists.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for building systems and equipment.
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts and adjust schedules when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality, hotels, or multi-unit residential properties.
- Basic HVAC knowledge and maintenance experience.
- Basic electrical maintenance experience.
- Painting, patching, and cosmetic repair skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Work Environment & Schedule
- Located at a modern hotel property in Menlo Park, CA.
- Work includes maintaining common areas, building systems, and non-occupied spaces.
- No work inside occupied guest rooms.
- Uses standard maintenance tools and equipment for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Fast-paced, customer-focused environment with an emphasis on safety and professionalism.
Current Schedule (subject to business needs):
- Wednesday through Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Monday and Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 8:30 PM
- Property coverage operates between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, seven days per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menlo Park, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
