About Meredith-Webb

\n

Meredith-Webb is a 75-year-old, family-owned commercial print manufacturer in Burlington, North Carolina, with over 100 employees. We produce folding cartons, top sheets, labels, and mailing and specialty print products for national and regional brands. We are investing in modern operating discipline while honoring the craftsmanship three generations have built.

\n

The Role

\n

We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance function and keep a demanding, multi-shift press operation running. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing, you will own equipment reliability and uptime across large-format KBA Rapida presses, bindery and finishing equipment, coaters and UV/IR systems, and building systems — balancing fast response to breakdowns with the planned maintenance that prevents them.

\n

What You’ll Do

\n

· Lead the maintenance team and all maintenance activity across shifts.

\n

· Own the reliability, condition, and uptime of all production equipment — large-format presses, bindery and finishing, coaters and UV/IR systems, and building systems.

\n

· Build and sustain preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and stand up a CMMS to schedule, track, and document the work.

\n

· Respond to breakdowns with urgency and drive recurring issues to root-cause resolution.

\n

· Manage parts inventory, vendor and OEM relationships, and maintenance spend within budget.

\n

· Partner with Manufacturing, the Pressroom, and Quality & Safety on reliability, CI/5S, and safe operation (lockout/tagout, OSHA compliance).

\n

· Train, develop, and cross-train the maintenance team on the plant’s specific equipment.

\n

The Challenges You’ll Take On

\n

· Reliability under pressure. Our presses run hard on a multi-shift schedule. You will own uptime and drive down recurring downtime.

\n

· From reactive to preventive. Maintenance here has been more reactive than planned. You will build preventive and predictive programs and stand up a CMMS to make the work disciplined and data-driven.

\n

· Ownership over escalation. You will diagnose root cause and resolve problems in-house rather than defaulting to outside vendors as a first resort.

\n

· Building the bench. You will develop and cross-train the maintenance team on our specific equipment.

\n

What You Bring

\n

· Five to ten years of hands-on maintenance experience in a printing, packaging, or manufacturing plant.

\n

· Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills; ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

\n

· Experience with sheetfed offset presses and finishing equipment in a multi-shift environment (KBA Rapida experience a plus).

\n

· Experience leading or supervising a maintenance team.

\n

· Working knowledge of maintenance management software (CMMS) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

\n

· A degree or formal technical / vocational training in a mechanical, electrical, or industrial-maintenance field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

\n

· Trade certifications (electrical, industrial maintenance, welding) are a plus, not a requirement.

\n

What We Offer

\n

A stable, respected, family-owned company with deep roots and a clear direction. A leadership role with real ownership and the opportunity to build a maintenance discipline from the ground up. Competitive compensation and a full benefits package. And a culture that is modernizing while staying true to what has always made Meredith-Webb distinctive.

\n

How to Apply

\n

Apply through this posting. Meredith-Webb is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
