Position Summary
The Escort Security Officer (ESO) is responsible for safeguarding passengers, personnel, and property across multiple U.S. transportation hubs. ESOs ensure compliance with all security regulations and operational protocols while maintaining a professional, vigilant, and courteous presence. This role demands exceptional situational awareness, discretion, and integrity in protecting national transportation systems against threats and unauthorized access.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce transportation security policies and procedures with consistency and professionalism.
- Support law enforcement and emergency response operations during security incidents.
- Maintain accurate records, incident reports, and documentation in accordance with agency policy.
- Participate in ongoing security training and readiness exercises to maintain certification and preparedness.
- Provide courteous assistance and clear communication to travelers, staff, and partner agencies.
- Perform additional security or operational duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Skills and Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (required).
- Eligible for federal security clearance (background investigation required).
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or security operations.
- Strong situational awareness, integrity, and adherence to security protocols.
- Ability to make rapid, sound decisions under pressure.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in documentation, report writing, and following standardized procedures.
- Secondary language proficiency preferred (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin).
- Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Operate in airport or transportation environments with exposure to noise, crowds, and variable weather conditions.
- Stand, walk, or climb stairs for extended durations.
- Maintain physical readiness for inspection, response, and intervention tasks.
- Utilize protective equipment as required for screening or safety operations.
