The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the community's outdoor areas to ensure a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, visitors, and associates. This role includes keeping the lawns, gardens, fountains, and outdoor structures clean and conducting regular community trash rounds to ensure all common areas are free from litter and debris. The Groundskeeper is key in ensuring that outdoor spaces are welcoming and well-maintained, contributing to a positive first impression of the community.

SALARY: $15.00/hourQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general outdoor maintenance preferred.

· Handyman skills

· Basic knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers).

· Knowledge of OSHA-MSDS sheets and procedures

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions.
  • Enjoy working with older adults
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to residents, family members, visitors, and co-workers
  • Ability to be a self-starter and motivated to initiate and complete tasks independently. Exhibit initiative beyond specific instructions.
  • Perform janitorial tasks, including the reparation and maintenance of equipment and building facilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Keep the lawns, gardens, fountains, and other outdoor structures clean and free from debris, trash, and any hazardous materials.
  • Conduct regular trash rounds to collect and dispose of litter in common areas, ensuring the community is always clean and inviting.
  • Remove leaves, debris, and trash from all outdoor areas, including parking lots, pathways, courtyards, and garden spaces.
  • Ensure walkways, driveways, and other outdoor surfaces are free from hazards.
  • Assist with the seasonal preparation of the grounds, including removing dead foliage and setting up outdoor spaces for special events or activities.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns related to the grounds to management.
  • Clean and maintain landscaping equipment and tools.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Building Services Director or General Manager

  • Establish and maintain constructive and professional working relationships with co-workers, residents, families and visitors
  • Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, employees and community operations.
  • Ability and desire to work as a team member and provide services to residents
  • Employees will always work to the standards defined in the Parc 20 Basics, The Four Steps of Service, and the Parc Communities Credo
  • Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Neat appearance, adherence to dress code and good personal hygiene are expected
  • Promote Parc Communities in a positive way.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift approximately 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb a ladder using proper body mechanics.
  • Regular exposure to dust, dirt, and noise from lawn equipment.

· Must be able to climb and descend stairs

  • Work area may be subject to frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Inclement weather conditions may be experienced
  • Requires working weekends, evenings, holidays as appropriate
  • Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents/patients, family members, personnel, visitors, etc
  • Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual
