Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role involves performing both electrical and mechanical maintenance on ovens, conveyors, and processing production equipment within a food manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician diagnoses and repairs equipment breakdowns, performs ongoing maintenance, and helps ensure reliable and safe operation of all machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on ovens, conveyors, and processing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, including inspection, adjustment, and replacement of parts as needed.
  • Work with pneumatic systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of pneumatic components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs in alignment with good manufacturing practices (GMP) when working in food production environments.
  • Support industrial and electrical maintenance activities, including basic electrical troubleshooting and component replacement.
  • Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment issues and repair status to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for weekend coverage and respond to maintenance needs during assigned on-call periods.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around electrical systems, gas combustion equipment, and production machinery.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of machine maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and comfort working around electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and machine repair in an industrial setting.
  • Comfort working in or around a GMP or food manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, maintenance repairs, and industrial maintenance tasks safely and accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a GMP or food manufacturing maintenance role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with gas combustion systems is a plus.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance beyond basic knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance documentation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety and cleanliness standards common in food manufacturing environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Racine, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $70720.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
