Leasing Agent Responsibilities:
- Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, ADA,
- Fair Credit Reporting Act and all other Federal, State, and Local laws pertaining to Residential Housing.
- Fully implement and enforce all policies and procedures as outlined in the J.H.W. Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Recording and updating details of prospective and existing landlords and tenants into computer database swiftly.
- Examining properties and informing maintenance staff of issues.
- Advertising available properties and conducting property tours as part of marketing activities.
- Screening prospective tenants to ensure they meet eligibility requirements.
- Completing lease applications and assisting with the verification of application information.
- Informing prospective tenants of results.
- Inspecting properties when tenants take occupation and vacate.
- Liaising with tenants to provide information and address their complaints and concerns.
- Maintaining and storing documentation effectively.
- Accepting rent payments, security deposits, and other applicable fees.
Requirements:
Education, Knowledge, Skills
- High school degree minimum
- Prior experience in property management or in a related industry preferred.
- SC Property Manager License, CAM®, ARM® designation preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills providing for effective communication with residents, employees, peers, vendors, owners, etc., and assisting operations.
- Computer software experience to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Management
- Basic understanding of Landlord/Tenant laws and application, familiarity with the state-specific
- Lease and Addendums, Fair Housing/ADA regulations and application, OSHA & EPA requirements for property management industry.
