Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage systems including access control, security cameras, and gate automation equipment. The technician will play a key role in ensuring the functionality and security of our client’s systems while providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Configuration: Install and configure access control systems, security cameras, and gate automation equipment such as operators, telephone entry systems, and related components.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs on existing low voltage systems including wiring, network connections, and system components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with low voltage systems, including software, hardware, electrical wiring, and network configurations.
- System Upgrades: Assist with the upgrading and expansion of existing security and access control systems, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about system functionality, repairs, and updates. Offer technical support and answer questions about system operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service calls, including installation reports, troubleshooting logs, and service recommendations.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to company standards, electrical codes, and manufacturer guidelines. Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in low voltage systems, access control, security cameras, or gate automation equipment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with brands such as DoorKing, LiftMaster, Hikvision, Avigilon, Honeywell, or similar access control, security camera, and gate systems.
- Certifications (Preferred): Any relevant certifications such as NICET, ESA, or manufacturer-specific certifications for low voltage systems.
- Electrical/Networking Knowledge: Solid understanding of wiring, circuits, relays, and basic electrical principles. Proficiency in IP networking and troubleshooting networked security devices.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex technical issues.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in various environments, both indoor and outdoor. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required as this role involves travel to customer sites.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
