What’s a typical day as a Maintenance Worker? You’ll be:
- Performing preventative maintenance on industrial production equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
- Maintaining, repairing, and lubricating machinery and equipment, including pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Completing scheduled preventative maintenance for fire safety, emergency lighting, eyewash stations, and facility equipment.
- Assisting in the installation of new equipment and processes in collaboration with the engineering team.
- Documenting maintenance and repair tasks in maintenance software and maintaining spare parts inventory.
- Coordinating with outside vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
- Operating machine tools (lathe, surface grinder, drill, milling machine) to fabricate or repair simple parts.
- Safely utilizing ladders, scissor lifts, and forklifts, and adhering to all safety practices.
- Communicating status and coordinating work with other departments to minimize production disruptions.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have at least 5 years of mechanical experience with industrial equipment (required).
- Possess mechanical or machining trade/vocational education and/or facilities/industrial maintenance experience.
- Can operate machine shop equipment such as Bridgeport, lathe, or similar (preferred).
- Have basic knowledge of large HP mechanical drive systems, pumps, valves, and piping.
- Are able to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Bring basic computer literacy and strong organizational/documentation skills.
- Are able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift/move up to 100 pounds as needed.
- Have strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Electrical experience in an industrial setting is a plus.
- Welding and carpentry skills are also preferred.
