Job Title: 1st Shift Maintenance Technician | Millersburg, OH | $25-$32/hr

Job Description

The 1st Shift Maintenance Technician performs industrial mechanical maintenance on molding equipment and production machinery, with a strong focus on hydraulics and minor electrical work. This role is based in Fredericksburg, OH on a first-shift schedule (8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.) and supports a clean, safety-focused manufacturing operation primarily serving the medical industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform industrial mechanical maintenance on molding equipment and production machinery, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues, focusing primarily on mechanical problems with some minor electrical work.
  • Maintain and service hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and motors, to prevent downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on mold presses and related production equipment according to established schedules.
  • Execute basic electrical troubleshooting and repair, including work on sensors, wiring, and minor controls.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on motors, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems as needed.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical documentation to support accurate repairs and installations.
  • Utilize welding and basic fabrication skills when required to repair or modify equipment components.
  • Support mold machines and tooling maintenance to ensure proper operation and product quality.
  • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of respirators in designated clean room areas, and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience, specifically working with production and molding equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial machinery.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and motors.
  • Ability to perform minor electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting sensors, wiring, and basic controls.
  • Experience working with mold presses and related equipment in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Ability to perform basic welding and repair work on equipment components.
  • Experience working with motors, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related mechanical systems.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and minor electrical systems.
  • Capability to work independently on the 1st shift and manage maintenance tasks efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mold press experience is a strong plus.
  • Mill repair experience is a plus.
  • in maintenance within a medical or rubber manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Comfort working around clean room operations where respirator use is required.
  • Willingness to participate in periodic performance evaluations (90-day, 6-month, and 1-year) tied to potential raises.
  • Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and quality in a production setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Millersburg, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
