Job DescriptionAbout the Role:VMS Security Services is looking for a skilled Alarm Service Technician to join our growing team in Farmingville, NY. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a critical part in keeping homes and businesses safe by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting alarm and security systems. Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and configure residential and commercial alarm and security systems
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and system testing
- Diagnose and troubleshoot alarm system malfunctions and equipment failures
- Repair or replace faulty components including sensors, control panels, and keypads
- Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Educate customers on proper system operation and best practices
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts inventory
Requirements:
- Prior experience installing or servicing alarm, fire, or security systems preferred
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, control panels, and intrusion detection systems
- NYS Alarm Installer License or ability to obtain one is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule
