Job Description
Job Description
Walk alongside five families on their path to homeownership.
New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) is launching Managed Ownership Readiness (MOR), a new three-year pathway to homeownership for working families. Five families will own homes at Rising Oaks while they build the credit, savings and skills to refinance into a permanent mortgage. We’re looking for a contracted Ownership Coach to be each family’s steady guide from move-in to refinance.
What you’ll do
- Build trust with each family and create an individual readiness plan with them.
- Meet with families one-on-one on a regular schedule, using motivational interviewing or a similar method.
- Lead periodic group workshops for the five families.
- Hold families accountable to their milestones with warmth, without shame or enabling.
- Coach homeowner topics that matter in New Orleans, such as insurance, property taxes and homestead exemption.
- Spot early signs of trouble and work with the MOR team to keep families on track.
- Log progress in the MOR App.
You’ll work alongside a Financial Readiness Specialist, NOAHH’s Home Operations Specialist and a Program Administrator.
- Pay: $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience, under an independent contractor agreement.
- Schedule: 20–25 hours per month.
- Term: early 2027 through the pilot’s Year-3 refinance, renewed annually.
- Location: in-person sessions at or near Rising Oaks, plus remote work.
