Maintenance Technician
CHEMRES is a global supplier of commodity and engineering resins. We offer cost effective, high quality material options to the plastics industry with the highest level of service and efficiency. CHEMRES is seeking a Maintenance Technician in our Chesapeake, Virginia location to contribute to our growing business. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in chemical plant operations.
Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally in a plastics operation) with the ability to operate a forklift are the basic requirements. CHEMRES is an equal opportunity employer.
Minimum job responsibilities:
· Assist with the management of the Preventive Maintenance program
· Schedule, perform or oversee performance of, and log electronically the completion of PM’s
· Perform work in a safe manor with proper tools & PPE
· Troubleshoot and perform repairs & maintenance to mechanical equipment
· Troubleshoot electrical and controls equipment including PLCs
· Review new equipment and manage the installation process
· Write equipment related procedures for monitoring and PMs
· Oversee projects for installations and overhauls
· Mentor associates with less experience
Job Requirements:
· 10 years of professional maintenance experience
· Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
· Strong problem-solving skills and technical background
· Able to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics
· Good understanding of Pneumatics and Hydraulics
· Good understanding of electrical safety
· Good practical understanding of AC/DC motors
· Good judgment, diplomacy, and organizational skills
· Full understanding and practical knowledge of OSHA TAGOUT/LOCKOUT procedures
· Strong knowledge of safe operating procedures
· Effective communication
· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
· High school level technical degree or greater
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· State certification a plus
