BLEACHTECH is seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance and Reliability Manager to lead maintenance operations at our chemical manufacturing facility in Seville, Ohio.
This key leadership position is responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of plant assets. The Maintenance and Reliability Manager will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, lead a skilled maintenance team, manage departmental budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical engineering expertise with proven leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to equipment reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Reliability

Lead and manage all plant maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Plan and coordinate equipment repairs, scheduled maintenance, and plant shutdowns to minimize production disruptions.

Oversee equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to improve asset reliability.

Manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including work orders, maintenance records, and equipment history.

Monitor maintenance KPIs, including equipment uptime, maintenance costs, asset utilization, and preventive maintenance compliance.
Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, supervisors, and support personnel.

Establish department priorities, coordinate staffing, and allocate resources to meet operational requirements.

Identify technical training needs and support employee skills development and career progression.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Manage external contractors and ensure maintenance work meets established quality and safety standards.
Budgeting & Project Management

Develop and manage departmental operating budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) recommendations.

Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs while improving equipment performance and reliability.

Support equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.

Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities.

Prepare monthly maintenance reports, project updates, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Safety & Compliance

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Promote safe work practices involving electrical systems, hazardous machinery, chemical handling, and confined spaces.

Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, equipment documentation, and engineering records.

Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions to reduce operational risk.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.

Demonstrated experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs in an industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance systems, engineering standards, and troubleshooting practices.

Experience managing maintenance budgets, projects, and departmental resources.

Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including responding to after-hours maintenance needs.
Preferred

Experience in chemical manufacturing, continuous-process operations, or a similar heavy industrial environment.

Experience with Limble CMMS or comparable maintenance management software.

Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience managing capital projects, equipment commissioning, and plant shutdowns.

Familiarity with electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and process equipment in chemical manufacturing facilities.
Work Environment
This position is based at our Seville, Ohio manufacturing facility and requires regular interaction with production equipment and maintenance personnel in an industrial chemical processing environment.
The role involves exposure to industrial machinery, electrical equipment, chemicals, varying temperatures, and other manufacturing conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety procedures are required.
