This role supports a fast-paced food manufacturing facility by maintaining and troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems. You will work across a wide range of equipment, including PLCs, three-phase motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors, and precision measurement tools, ensuring reliable operation and minimal downtime in a demanding production environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment in a food manufacturing facility.
- Perform PLC troubleshooting on Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems to identify and resolve control and automation problems.
- Work with 480V electrical systems, including sensors, switches, and three-phase motors, to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including actuators, valves, and associated controls.
- Support and maintain conveyor systems, ensuring proper alignment, operation, and throughput.
- Use micrometers and other precision measurement tools to assess components such as bearings and other mechanical parts.
- Perform routine industrial maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Assist with boiler-related maintenance activities as needed to support plant operations.
- Collaborate closely with production and maintenance teams to prioritize work orders and respond quickly to equipment issues.
- Work safely and effectively in a non-climate-controlled environment, including very hot areas of the facility.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately for future reference and compliance.
- Participate in overtime work, including Saturday shifts, to support production demands when required.
Essential Skills
- 38 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical maintenance skills, including work with 480V systems, sensors, switches, and three-phase motors.
- Proficiency in mechanical maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of moving machinery and components.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic equipment.
- Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic equipment.
- PLC troubleshooting experience on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Ability to work with conveyors, including inspection, adjustment, and repair.
- Ability to use micrometers and other precision tools to measure and evaluate mechanical components.
- Experience working with bearings and related rotating equipment components.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment, including very hot areas.
- Ability to work a 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM schedule Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays as needed.
- Commitment to safe work practices when working with high-voltage equipment and industrial machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Boiler maintenance or boiler system experience.
- Experience working with industrial robots such as Kuka robots.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or similar high-throughput production environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in maintenance and production.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled food manufacturing facility where some areas can be very hot, so comfort working in heat is essential. The role is highly hands-on and involves regular interaction with industrial equipment, including electrical systems, mechanical components, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, boilers, and robots. The standard schedule is 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with overtime available on Saturdays. Appropriate non-slip, slip-resistant footwear is required to support safety in the production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
