Job Description
The Advanced Practitioners roles as Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will support International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. in providing a comprehensive range of medical care to US government employees and contractors in Iraq. Clinics are responsible for a variety of on-site primary, urgent, and initial emergency care services. The Advanced practitioner is responsible for leadership and management of clinic staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee medical staff at a DOS/DOS healthcare clinic.
- Collaborate with on-site physicians, other APPs, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in the assessment and stabilization of patients requiring urgent or emergent care.
- Provide comprehensive primary and continuing care to patients presenting with a wide range of health concerns.
- Clinic services include, but are not limited to health promotion and disease prevention, health maintenance counselling and patient education, diagnosis and directed physical exams, emergent and annual vaccinations, comprehensive STD Testing
- Manage simple chronic conditions through intermittent monitoring.
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain compliance with all project site procedures, standards, and continuing educational and mandatory training requirements.
- Coordinate with medical evacuation teams for patients requiring care beyond the capabilities of the clinic.
- Participate in MASCAL exercises.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Full unrestricted U.S. (State) Licensure, Certification, or Registration required in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Minimum 5 years’ recent experience including 6 months within the last year
- Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:
- Graduate of accredited or provisionally accredited American Academy of Physician Assistants and hold a NCCPA certification.
- Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner School and hold a AANP or ANCC.
Physical Requirements:
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Valid US Passport with at least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
- Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
