Responsibilities:
- Safely operate and use power tools, hand tools, saws, drill press, grinder, pipe threader, measuring and diagnostic meters and other maintenance tools
- Perform duties to install and maintain plant facility’s equipment
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
- Perform various basic tasks in areas including carpentry, building materials, insulating, rigging and building maintenance and repair
- Perform basic electrical tasks; wiring installation including layout, conduit fabrication, pulling wiring and identification of circuits, installation of junction boxes, panels and all required components
- Perform basic plumbing and pipefitting tasks; including layout, cutting, threading and installation of piping components and systems
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and instructions to perform required maintenance and service of plant equipment
- Maintain all required maintenance logs, records, work orders/attachments and other technical and administrative documents
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge and abilities in both mechanical and electrical maintenance practices and terminology
- Operate Lift Truck
- Optimize predictive maintenance practices (vibration and lubrication)
- Provide timely planning of general work orders
- Provide a yearly equipment condition analysis
- Maintain equipment history and equipment documents in a useable library
- Communicate with plant manager and production to resolve engineering and production or maintenance issues in the plants
- Provide emergency and scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment
- Experience with Liquid and Powder filling equipment
- Experience with PLC Controls
Minimum Requirements:
- High Schools Diploma
- Minimum of five (3) yrs. experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician in an industrial chemical plant or similar industrial facility or a combination of completion of an accredited Trade School Certification
- Have a tow motor operator certificate
- Ability to perform basic reading, writing, mathematics and computer tasks
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform physical job duties which may include, but not limited to, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling or standing for long periods of time, crawling, climbing, bending, and twisting.
- Ability to work in tight spaces
- Ability to work in elevated areas
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- Exposure to chemicals: protective clothing required at times.
- Exposure to fumes: respiratory protection required at times.
- Work with others or alone
- Work overtime as required
