The Senior Quality Engineer (SQE) plays a key role in driving quality excellence throughout our diverse portfolio of professional audio and communications products including: Bosch, Electro-Voice, Dynacord, RTS, and Telex brands. This position ensures that quality targets are clearly defined and integrated, to sustain seamless, operational, crystal-clear communications, empowering professionals across major Broadcasting, Dispatch and Aviation industries. The SQE promotes continuous improvement, by incorporating lessons learned and good practices. Working in a global environment, the SQE collaborates with internal experts and external Trade Good Suppliers to manage quality activities, including regular reporting, customer claims, and improvement initiatives. The SQE also supports faster Time-to-Market and enhanced customer satisfaction through proactive leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description

  • Lead the quality function in Electro-Voice product development life-cycle, ensuring quality improvement opportunities are identified, targets are properly defined and implemented, lessons learned are translated to projects. during product development (“designed-in quality”) and ensure that requirements for quality gates are met.
  • Derive measures to improve preventive quality of our Pro-Sound products and contribute to their implementation.
  • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and supplier teams throughout the product lifecycle and track appropriate quality assurance measures to achieve required product maturities within international quality team around the globe.
  • Create methods and monthly reports to manage stakeholder expectations and foster data-driven communication in quality.
  • Identify and drive quality improvement and warranty return cost reduction (WRR) initiatives by ensuring timely and methodological problem solving through techniques such as 8D, Fishbone, 5why, FMEA, etc.
  • Monitor and conduct analysis of warranty return & repair data, failure cost, and customer complaints for early detection of quality-related problems with a data driven approach.
  • Develop quality improvement targets for hardware components related to our suite of Pro-Sound products, in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Manage Trade Good Supplier quality issues, new product launch and supplier development.
  • Contribute to reduced Time-to-Market by improved execution of processes and avoidance of deviations in projects and products.
  • Support internal and external audit coordination with central auditing team in Germany.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a comparable degree program.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in quality engineering, have initial experience with hardware / software products.
  • Experience working for a global organization and in consumer electronics, aviation or related industry.
  • Experienced indevelopment processes, preferably in agile principles as well as one ISO Standard (i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO27001).
  • Hands on experience in statistical process control (SPC), preferably Six Sigma, Green Belt or higher.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and act as a strong team-player across different international and multicultural stakeholders, with a distinctive sense of responsibility, customer orientation and a high level of social competence.
  • Must be resilient in a changing business environment and have excellent communication skills.
  • Must lead with confidence across different management levels and work cross-functionally as well as strong conflict management skills.
  • Must have a process-oriented way of thinking paired with a strong analytical approach.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English, German language experience preferred.
  • Software product experience preferred.
  • Quality Manager Certification, ISO Auditor and/or PMI Project Management Certification is desirable.
  • Experienced in development processes, preferably in agile principles as well as ISO Standards (i.e. ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Domestic and international travel required, on average 15%.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate global business needs, including early mornings or late evenings for calls with international teams.



Additional Information

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $116,000 - $128,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.

  • Physical Demands: Normal office environment. Ability to work in a standard office environment, including extended periods of sitting, computer use, and video conferencing. Must be able to occasionally lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25 pounds (e.g., product samples, marketing materials) for events or demonstrations.
