Property Manager – Affordable Housing Programs
A mission-driven organization is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of affordable housing properties. This role is ideal for a team player with strong leadership skills and a passion for community-focused housing solutions. The Property Manager will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high occupancy rates, and delivering excellent customer service to residents.
Pay Range
$26.44 – $35 per hour (based on knowledge and experience)

Key Responsibilities
-
Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local housing regulations (e.g., Section 8, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act).

Manage day-to-day operations of assigned properties in accordance with organizational policies and housing program guidelines.

Supervise and lead on-site staff to maintain high standards of service and operations.

Calculate rent, process payments, and maintain accurate financial records.

Oversee and complete resident re-certifications and documentation.

Identify and address maintenance or housekeeping issues promptly.

Monitor expenses and support adherence to operating budgets.

Handle resident requests, inquiries, and concerns professionally and in a timely manner.

Participate in decisions related to continued assistance eligibility and rental payment responsibilities.

Report occupancy status regularly and maintain accurate records.

Collaborate with community partners and attend resident and neighborhood meetings.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.

At least 2 years of experience in a management role, preferably in property or housing management.

Knowledge of subsidized housing programs and regulations (Section 8 experience a plus).

Valid driver’s license.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Sensitivity to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Experience with property management software is a plus.
