About the Role: Grand Rapids Fire Protection, Inc. is expanding our Fire Alarm division and seeking a skilled, detail-driven Fire Alarm Technician to support inspections, service calls, troubleshooting, device replacements, and system repairs. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in clean, code-compliant work and wants to grow within a rapidly developing life-safety team.

You will work directly with building owners, property managers, GCs, and facility teams to ensure systems remain compliant, reliable, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

- \n
- Perform fire alarm inspections per NFPA 72 and manufacturer requirements.
- Diagnose & repair system issues including ground faults, device failures, communication errors, and panel troubles.
- Replace devices, modules, notification appliances, and wiring as needed.
- Complete service reports, deficiency lists, and repair recommendations.
- Support small-project installations, panel swaps, and system upgrades.
- Coordinate with customers and internal scheduling to complete service work efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all inspections, repairs, and testing.
- Represent GRFP with professionalism, urgency, and technical credibility.

Preferred Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Experience with Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, EST, Siemens, or similar systems.
- NICET Level I-II in Fire Alarm Systems (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience performing inspections and generating deficiency reports.
- Ability to assist with programming and system commissioning.

Compensation Range
\n
- \n
- Hourly Rate: $22 - $34 per hour (DOE)
- Overtime: Time-and-a-half for all hours over 40
- Annual Earnings Potential: $55,000 - $80,000+ depending on experience and workload.
