Job Summary:


Security is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of campus and grounds. This position involves periodic patrols to ensure premises are secure, monitoring for suspicious activity or person(s), and responding promptly to incidents or emergencies. Helps protect students, staff, and the premises by enforcing safety procedures and maintaining a visible presence. They work closely with the Site Director and Site Coordinators to manage, direct, and coordinate the campus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure student safety throughout the campus, including restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and recreational areas.

  • Secure premises by patrolling property

  • Monitoring, inspecting building, and access points; permitting entry

  • Control traffic by directing drivers

  • Ensure the security, safety, and well-being of all students, staff, and the premises

  • Supervise students during lunch and break periods, including in the gym, hallways, and play/eating areas.

  • Encourage and promote courtesy, kindness and positive interactions between students.

  • Observe and enforce safe and fair rules; may act as a game leader in lunch or break activities.

  • Monitor the campus and parking lots.

  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment, monitoring student behavior and enforcing school policies.

  • Assist in conflict resolution and minor disciplinary issues.

  • Report incidents, unsafe conditions, and suspicious behavior to the Site Director or Joobilo Directors.

  • Provide assistance with setup and support before or during classes, lunch, breaks, or school events.

  • Provide cleanup and support following classes, lunch, break, or school events.

  • Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to students and staff

  • Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and lockdowns.

  • Foster positive relationships with parents, staff, and students.

  • Experience in using various computer programs.

  • Proficiency in using computers or iPads.

  • Valid CA Driver's License

  • Must have a reliable means of transportation

  • Must be willing to undergo Live Scan fingerprinting and successfully pass the background check

  • Possession of a valid Guard Card is preferred, though not required

Physical Demands:

  • Stand or sit for extended periods.

  • Stoop, bend, reach, lift, climb stairs, and crouch as required to perform duties.

  • Occasionally lift at least 50 pounds and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
