Job DescriptionFacilities Manager (Industrial Electrical & Maintenance)
Location: Rochester, NY Department: Manufacturing / Facilities Reports To: General Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Position Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and operational readiness of all production equipment, utilities, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring extensive industrial electrician experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure maximum equipment availability and operational readiness. • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, motors, VFDs, control panels, conveyors, and production equipment. • Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs. • Oversee HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, lighting, and facility infrastructure. • Maintain SOPs and train employees. • Ensure OSHA, NEC, GMP, Lockout/Tagout, and safety compliance. • Manage vendors, budgets, maintenance inventory, and capital projects. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of industrial maintenance/facilities experience with extensive industrial electrician experience (required). • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment. • Knowledge of 480V/240V/120V systems, PLC-controlled equipment, motor controls, VFDs, HVAC, and mechanical systems. • Experience in regulated manufacturing preferred. • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints. • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred. • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field. • CMRP certification and CMMS experience preferred. • PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, climb ladders, and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
