Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing industrial equipment with a strong emphasis on electrical and welding work in a food and beverage processing environment. The Maintenance Technician ensures reliable operation of production machinery by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and safely working with industrial electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues in industrial systems, including troubleshooting faults and replacing components as needed.
  • Carry out welding tasks to repair or fabricate parts and structures that support production equipment.
  • Work with industrial electrical systems, following proper safety procedures when working near energized equipment and moving mechanical parts.
  • Support maintenance activities in a food and beverage processing environment, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and downtime is minimized.
  • Operate safely in areas with moving mechanical parts, dusty and noisy conditions, outdoor weather exposure, and potential chemical contact.
  • Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to supervisors and team members.
  • Drive as needed for work-related purposes while maintaining a clean driving record in order to qualify for permanent employment consideration.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility procedures.
  • Work night shifts from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., including weekdays, and adjust to a rotating schedule with days off during the week.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5+ years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair in an industrial environment.
  • Industrial maintenance experience with hands-on work on production and processing equipment.
  • Industrial electrical experience, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
  • Welding experience for equipment repair and fabrication tasks.
  • Experience working in food and beverage processing environments or similar industrial settings.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record and provide a five-year DMV printout for permanent employment consideration.
  • Ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts, dusty and noisy conditions, outdoor weather, and chemicals.
  • Willingness and ability to work night shifts from 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. with midweek days off.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of 480V electrical systems.
  • Experience with MIG welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with three-phase wiring and related industrial electrical configurations.
  • Prior experience in food and beverage processing environments, which typically translates well to this role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may include nights and midweek days off.
  • Openness to direct hire or contract-to-hire employment arrangements.

Work Environment

This position is based at an industrial facility in a production setting. You will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and operate in very dusty and noisy conditions. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Farland, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
