Maintenance Technician
Location: Charlottesville, VA
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Employment Type: [Temp / Temp-to-Hire]
Pay rate: $20-$23, depending on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily maintenance operations at a residential apartment community. This role is ideal for someone hands-on, dependable, and experienced in general apartment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare apartments for move-ins, including full turnovers
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs
- Assist with appliance repairs and replacements
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the property grounds
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed
- Communicate effectively with the property management team and residents
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of apartment maintenance experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple work orders
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Reliable transportation required
- HVAC certification a plus, but not required
