About the Role:
The General Labor - Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment within the organization. This position involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of assets. The technician will work closely with other team members to identify maintenance needs and implement effective solutions promptly. Attention to safety protocols and adherence to company standards are essential to maintain a safe working environment. Ultimately, this role supports operational efficiency by maintaining the physical infrastructure and equipment in optimal condition.
You have an opportunity to join a team of professionals dedicated to Multi-family Apartment communities. This is a hands-on majority field work job.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess minimum of five (5) years experience in all aspects of equipment related to apartment community maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical or plumbing system.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be drug-free
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a maintenance technician or general labor role.
- Basic welding or carpentry skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with deodorizer machines and compactor a big plus but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure operational reliability.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other maintenance issues as they arise, minimizing disruption to daily operations.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment or systems as directed by supervisors or project managers.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs performed.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to promote a safe work environment for all employees.
Skills:
The required skills enable the technician to perform essential maintenance tasks efficiently and safely, such as using tools to repair or install equipment and understanding mechanical and electrical systems to troubleshoot issues. Ability to manage maintenance schedules and document work accurately, improving overall operational efficiency.
