Security Engineer
Remote
6-Month Contract to Hire (Potential Extensions)
Pay Rate: $65.00 - $75.00/hour
A rapidly growing SaaS technology company is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen its cybersecurity program across applications, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems. This role supports application security, vulnerability management, incident response, and security operations while partnering with engineering teams to identify and remediate risks.
Required Skills:
- 5 years of information security or cybersecurity experience.
- Experience with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Hands-on application security experience, including SAST, DAST, and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Ability to validate security findings and work with developers on remediation.
- Familiarity with secure development practices and security testing in CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
- Experience securing AWS and Azure environments.
- Understanding of patch management, incident response, encryption, authentication, and authorization.
- Ability to maintain security standards, policies, and documentation.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with dependency scanning, SCA, or threat modeling.
- Familiarity with SOC 2, PCI DSS, or ISO 27001.
- Security , CISSP, CEH, or similar certifications.
