Pay Range: $20-23 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Janitor for a full-time opportunity with an established aerospace manufacturing company in the Torrance, CA area. This role is responsible for keeping facility, office, and common areas clean, organized, stocked, and safe. The ideal candidate will have prior janitorial, custodial, or facility cleaning experience and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain designated areas inside and outside the facility on a daily basis.
- Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, restrooms, offices, conference rooms, parking lots, and public areas.
- Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, polish, and shampoo carpets as needed.
- Wash windows and empty trash daily.
- Maintain and restock supply rooms, restrooms, and cleaning supplies.
- Perform light maintenance and minor repair tasks as needed.
- Check for potential safety concerns or needed repairs and report them to the Facility Manager.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment as needed.
- Operate janitorial equipment such as vacuums, floor cleaning equipment, and buffing machines.
- Use ladders and cleaning equipment safely when required.
- Follow company safety procedures and proper handling guidelines for cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Prior janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or facility cleaning experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and proper cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets preferred.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong reliability, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and report safety concerns or facility maintenance needs.
- Ability to work safely in both office and manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
This position is in a manufacturing facility that includes office areas, common areas, restrooms, parking areas, and production-adjacent spaces.
The manufacturing floor is level, and the office area may include a two-story layout with stairs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, and stoop throughout the shift.
Ability to use ladders and janitorial equipment as needed.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Ability to move furniture, boxes, supplies, crates, and equipment as required.
