Job DescriptionUnited Talent Staffing is seeking a dependable Custodian to support cleaning and facility operations at a large school or office facility in Danielsville, GA. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and security while ensuring the facility remains in excellent condition.
Position SummaryPosition Title: Custodian
Location: Danielsville, GA
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform general janitorial and custodial duties throughout the facility
- Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, strip, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- Vacuum carpets and mats
- Empty trash receptacles and maintain clean workspaces
- Clean windows, walls, furniture, lockers, and drinking fountains
- Disinfect restrooms and respond to emergency spills
- Pick up debris and maintain entrances and walkways
- Lock/unlock doors to ensure building security
- Operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, floor machines, etc.)
- Assist with furniture setup for meetings and events
- Report safety hazards or needed repairs to supervisor
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to safely operate cleaning tools and chemicals
- Basic computer skills (email and room reservation systems preferred)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a safe, orderly environment
- Flexible and dependable with strong communication skills
Experience in custodial or janitorial work preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking: Continuous
- Bending/Twisting: Frequent
- Pushing/Pulling: Up to 75 lbs
- Occasional reaching above shoulder level
- Ability to meet physical demands of cleaning duties
