Armed Security Officer - Full Time
OX Security Location: Raleigh, NC
Position Summary
OX Security is seeking experienced and professional Armed Security Officers to provide security services in Raleigh, NC. Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and state property while providing exceptional customer service and emergency response support.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Current North Carolina PPSB Armed Security Guard Registration and Firearm Permit
- Ability to obtain and maintain HSPD-12 federal credentialing
- Clean criminal background suitable for State facility access
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
In addition, applicants must possess one of the following:
- Five (5) years of law enforcement experience; or
- Five (5) years of military service; or
- Five (5) years of security experience in a comparable professional environment.
Essential Duties
- Monitor and control facility access points
- Screen visitors using magnetometers and security screening equipment
- Conduct interior and exterior security patrols
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems
- Enforce facility security procedures
- Complete reports, daily activity logs, and incident documentation
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations
- Assist employees and visitors during emergencies
- Escort visitors, vendors, and contractors as required
- Support fire drills, evacuations, and emergency response activities
- Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary
Additional Requirements
- Officers must wear and operate body cameras during their entire shift.
- Officers must be able to work in a professional government office environment.
- Officers are designated as essential personnel and may be required to report during inclement weather or emergencies.
- Officers must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and qualifications throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior federal, state, or government facility security experience
- Military police, corrections, or law enforcement background
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
- Experience operating access control, CCTV, and alarm monitoring systems
