This Maintenance Technician role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, including conveyors, gear boxes, motors, and related systems. The position requires strong root cause analysis skills, hands-on experience with electrical wiring and rewiring, and the ability to perform PLC troubleshooting (without programming). You will support reliable operation of manufacturing processes by installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical components across a high-volume production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment issues to identify underlying problems and implement effective, long-term solutions.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, including reading PLC logic and diagnosing faults, without the need for programming new code.
- Carry out electrical wiring and rewiring tasks, including running conduit and ensuring safe, compliant installations.
- Install new equipment and components, following technical specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct mechanical repairs on production equipment, including conveyors, gear boxes, and motors, to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
- Diagnose and repair issues involving hydraulics and other mechanical systems used in the production process.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to reduce the risk of unexpected failures.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and support continuous operations.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate records and support future troubleshooting.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE when working with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience performing root cause analysis on mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
- Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting, including reading PLC logic and diagnosing equipment faults (programming not required).
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and rewiring, including working with conduit and related electrical components.
- Experience installing equipment and components in a production or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs on production equipment, including conveyors, gear boxes, and motors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems used in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Comfort working in a rotating shift environment, including 12-hour first and third shifts.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with installation and commissioning of production equipment.
- Background in mechanical repairs on a variety of production machinery and related components.
- Ability to read and interpret PLC logic and electrical schematics to support troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with high-volume manufacturing environments serving industries such as HVACR, electrical, consumer hardware, automotive retail, and pool and spa.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing complex equipment issues.
- Willingness to learn and grow into expanded responsibilities within the maintenance team.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large manufacturing facility that serves multiple industries, including HVACR, electrical, consumer hardware retail, electrical utility, automotive retail, and pool and spa. The work is performed on rotating 12-hour shifts, with a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a third shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a shift differential for night work. You will work around production equipment such as conveyors, gear boxes, motors, and hydraulic systems, using standard maintenance tools and PPE, which is provided. The environment is fast-paced and focused on continuous operation and reliability of manufacturing processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conyers, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
