Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our apartment community.
This is a working management position. The Maintenance Manager will supervise and lead the maintenance team while also personally diagnosing problems, completing repairs, and working alongside the team.
Responsibilities
- Manage, train, and supervise maintenance staff.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance, and general maintenance issues.
- Oversee apartment turns, preventative maintenance, and property upkeep.
- Prioritize work orders and ensure repairs are completed properly and efficiently.
- Determine what can be repaired in-house and when outside contractors are necessary.
- Coordinate vendors and control maintenance costs.
- Communicate professionally with residents, staff, and management.
- Participate in emergency/on-call maintenance as required.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general repairs.
- Ability to lead and manage a maintenance team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and people skills.
- Practical and cost-conscious approach to repairs.
- Willingness to work alongside the team—not just manage from the sidelines.
