Job Description

The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide range of production and facility equipment in a clean and climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role focuses primarily on mechanical maintenance with strong electrical exposure, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of blow molding and injection molding machinery, conveyors, automation systems, and supporting utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including blow molding machines, injection molding machines, conveyors, automated packaging systems, palletizers, robots, and vision systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Troubleshoot and wire 480V electrical systems, working with supply cabinets and circuits ranging from 24V DC up to 480V.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with a strong focus on hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Support and maintain automation systems, including robotics, conveyor systems, and related industrial equipment.
  • Perform general facilities maintenance and upkeep as needed to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage to support reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Work safely with appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all plant safety and cleanliness standards in a food-grade facility.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in training, apprenticeship, and certification programs offered by the company to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience; candidates with
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with emphasis on industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, with the role being more mechanical than electrical.
  • Proficiency working with 480V electrical systems, including troubleshooting and wiring.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment such as blow molding machines, injection molding machines, conveyors, and automated packaging systems.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance repair, including conveyor systems and automation systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts on either days or nights, including required training on day shift for night roles.
  • Commitment to working safely in a regulated, food-grade environment and following strict cleanliness and PPE requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lima, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
