Summary:

The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and machinery. This role requires expertise in mechanical systems and is essential for ensuring smooth and safe operations in a production or manufacturing environment. The Industrial Mechanic works closely with other maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

· Equipment Maintenance & Repair:

o Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment, including motors, conveyors, production machines, and hydraulic systems.

o Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues, and execute timely repairs to minimize downtime.

o Replace or repair defective parts and troubleshoot issues to ensure machinery is running at optimal levels.

· Installation & Assembly:

o Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment, including mechanical alignment, testing, and calibration.

o Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for the proper assembly and installation of machinery.

· Troubleshooting:

o Identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions.

o Use specialized tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and other diagnostic equipment, to inspect and adjust machine parts.

· Safety & Compliance:

o Adhere to company safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.

o Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment to identify hazards and prevent accidents.

o Comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding equipment and machinery maintenance.

· Inventory & Documentation:

o Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, time taken, and nature of repairs.

o Monitor and manage inventory of repair parts and maintenance supplies, ordering replacements as needed.

· Continuous Improvement:

o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment efficiency, minimize downtime, and improve overall production flow.

o Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for operational enhancements.

Qualifications:

· Education:

o High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.

· Experience:

o Minimum of 2 years of experience as an industrial mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

o Familiarity with various machinery, including CNC machines, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

· Skills:

o Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

o Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

o Knowledge of electrical systems, welding, and fabrication is a plus.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Physical Requirements:

o Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, or crouch for extended periods.

o Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
