Maintenance Technician — Mobile Home Community (Lansing, MI)
Discover Properties is hiring a contractor Maintenance/Handyman for our mobile home park in Lansing. This is a hands-on role covering everything from home rehabs to day-to-day repairs and grounds upkeep.
Responsibilities:
- Rehab and turn vacant park-owned homes (drywall, flooring, paint, fixtures, appliances)
- General plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs (skirting, water lines, minor sewer issues)
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
- Report larger capital issues (roofs, infrastructure) to property manager
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in maintenance, construction, or handyman work
- Experience rehabbing/turning homes or units
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Own basic hand tools (larger equipment provided)
- Self-starter who can work independently and prioritize multiple work orders
- Good communication with residents and management
Nice to have:
- Mobile home / manufactured housing experience specifically
- Skirting, tie-down, or leveling experience
- Small engine repair
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Details:
- on-site at the Lansing, MI property
- If you are willing to travel this could be a full time job going to all our parks in michigan
- On-call availability for emergencies (frozen pipes, water leaks, etc.)
